The DVD support works just like a stand-alone DVD player with access to movie menus, subtitles, and alternate languages. MediaCentral includes a fairly extensive list of Internet-based video and radio stations, but you can always add more if you like.
Thatis a handy feature since Murphyis law says you are likely to have some favorite station that isnit on the list. Like Internet video and radio streams, you can add other Flash games to the menu.
Just be sure the games you add can be controlled with your Macis arrow keys and space bar. If managing your media isnit enough for you, MediaCentral also works as an interface to Skype. It shows your contact list, lets you initiate calls, and lets you answer Skype calls, too. Which brings up one of my complaints: all of the settings for MediaCentral are in a Preference Pane instead of in the application. Splitting out the settings as a Preference Pane felt counter intuitive to me, although some people may like the idea of managing settings without having to launch the application.
A digital home entertainment hub isnit useful at all if you have to wait every time you select a menu option. MediaCentral performed just fine, even on a 1. I chose this system instead of a newer Intel-based Mac specifically because I envisioned some users pressing an older Mac, like a 1. Startup was a bit slower than I expected, but still totally acceptable.
Unsupported for 3 years but now MC appears to be discontinued. MC supports all the menus and chapter skips where Plex does not.

If you want to install on another Mac you have to take your password off the one you are presently using. Well the registration says it is wrong and I tried to go back and put in the registration to My MacBook Air and it says it is the wrong password. Now I have to wait until they open up on Monday. I don't like the GUI. The arrangement is poor. XBMC is better as well as Plex. I really don't know why they don't let you put the darn thing on all the Macs you own.

Their software may very well be running fine in Europe I'm assuming so because I think that most of its bad marks are coming from the US , but if they're going to continue snubbing the US market as they have, simply pull your lousy software.
